DIY Twig Christmas tree decoration

This DIY Twig Christmas tree project is a cheap and simple one as most of the things you can find at home. In addition, it is definitely balanced for the whole family as it is fun and easy to put together. Kids would love making these natural twig trees that could be hung up on a Christmas tree, given as an handmade gift or as a nice decoration on a wall.
Finally, you would be surprised how using simple tools and supplies you can make these beautiful treasures. So let’s start!
Tools and supplies
- twigs from the garden
- glue sticks
- string (I have used 3 colors)
- hot glue gun
- scissors
- (sticky) stars
Instructions
Step 1. Organize twigs.
Organize your twigs into sets. I have made 4 sets for 4 Christmas trees. One set consists of 2 longer (on the sides of a tree) and two shorter (in the bottom) twigs.
Step 2. Glue twigs together.
Prepare 4 pieces of twigs (2 long and two short ones) and glue them in a shape of a Christmas tree with a hot glue gun. First, glue two long twigs together at the top. Then take your short twig and glue two spots at the bottom of a long twigs. Finally attache a base of a tree. Set them aside to dry.
Step 3. Make a knot.
Once your trees are dry, take one piece of chosen string and make a knot at the top of a tree.
Step 4. Wrap your tree vertically.
Continue by wrapping your tree vertically.
Step 5. Make a final knot.
Once you are happy with wrapping, make a final knot at the top of a tree and cut the excess twine.
Step 6. Stick a star.
Stick/glue a chosen star on the top of a Christmas tree. I have used a sticky star that matches a color of a string.
NOTE: I would suggest using max. 3 colors as it gives a themed look. Wrap your trees in all the ways vertically and horizontally by mixing the colors together.
Finally, I have glued all 4 Christmas trees on a canvas and hung it up on a wall. Now we have a nice home Christmas decoration.
