DIY Iron patches – simple and easy way to renew kids clothes
Running, jumping, falling down it is an inseparable part of day of every kid. As a result they have holes or stubborn stains in the clothes. I used to throw them away, however, I begin to think of the ways to manage this situation. Of course, it is not avoidable, I cannot restrict him in playing, but I can search for other possible ways to solve this issue and somehow renew clothes.
Thus, I thought of my childhood. Do you remember your own? We used to get the stickers on the clothes having holes or stains. So why we could not do the same in these modern times, as old fashioned things are good things. You can find these patches on ebay or aliekspress.
So the provided info in this post does not discover something new or unseen, however, reminds the good old way to cover the holes and/or make kids clothes more personalized.
As you will notice from the first photos, after a few successful attempts I found that this way of hiding the holes makes clothes look even better and cool as my son says. In addition, I found more clothes in his closets that seems to be boring and DIY iron patches made them more personalized. So my kid was very impressed and happy as he could choose the patches that he likes.
Step 1. Set iron to a “cotton” mode.
Step 2. Iron area of garment where patch will be placed.
Step 3. Put patch on your cloth, embroidery side up.
Step 4. Place cotton fabric over patch. I have used a kitchen towel.
Step 5. Iron over patch for 30-40 seconds.
Step 6. Let cool for a minute.
Step 7. Iron inside of garment underneath.
NOTE: Do not use on unironable fabrics such as nylons, vinyls or leathers.
