Simple and easy butter cookies
Simple and easy butter cookies are not the healthiest ones, however, a smell in the house and the joy of those tasting them is totally rewarding and no regretting.
My son is definitely a real fan of it. He loves not only to eat these cookies, however, always is a number one in the kitchen, when it come to decorating them. Thus, they are perfect for those who loves to experiment with the topping.
Moreover, homemade butter cookies are simple to make and contain just few ingredients. Finally, it is also a perfect gift (especially on Christmas time) that everyone would appreciate. What could be better? 😊
- 250 g unsalted butter
- 100-200 g confectioners sugar
- 1 tbs. of vanilla
- 2 medium eggs
- 2 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
Step 1. Beat confectioners sugar, vanilla and butter until it become smooth and creamy.
Step 2. Add eggs and beat to combine.
Step 3. Add flour and beat until well incorporated.
Step 4. Refrigerate for 1/2 or an hour until butter is not that soft.
Step 5. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Step 6. Take your puff pastry and make small circles.
Step 7. Place them on a baking pan lined with a baking paper.
Step 8. Using a pastry brush, brush the pastries with the egg.
Step 9. Put anything you want on the top of the cookies. We have made a kids’ version with sprinkles (push them to the dough, so it holds better) and one a little bit heather version with oats and dried fruits. You can also add any ingredients you want into a dough (rosins, chocolate chips etc.) and stir until combined.
Step 10. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the tops begin to turn golden, but not too much, otherwise the cookies will be too dry.
I hope that you will find these cookies worth to try for your family and friends. And get kids to help baking and decorating 🙂
